One of the best things about Saturday morning is looking for my weekly useletter from Amy Lynn Andrews! I brew my first cup of coffee (I always have one regular and one decaf), get comfy and grab my laptop. I quickly clean out the e:mails that don’t need my attention and then get to those that matter. Amy’s definitely matters. There is ALWAYS something that I can use thus it’s called the Useletter vs. Newsletter. Today talked about Life. How short life really is (in blocks and jelly beans).
We all know it’s Fall around here – time changes. Leaves change. In some ways, life just sorta changes. It’s a time to reflect and prepare as we move into the holiday season.
I’ve been thinking a lot about my life. What is on my bucket list? What do I still have time to change? How will I be remembered? And that’s when I think about my children. I certainly haven’t been the perfect Mom. I have made tons of mistakes. Learned. Picked up the pieces. Prayed for guidance. But through it all, I have always wanted nothing but the best for all of my children. This article puts it all into perspective – Here’s a snippet from the She Savvy article.
Like many children, mine do not always hear the words that I speak to them. They have the ability to stare at me and not hear a word that I have said. I admit, I talk a lot, but that’s only because I am trying to teach the way of the world to them.
If my children have heard anything, I hope they have learned that everything I did was to prepare them for this world and to teach them to be who they were always meant to be – no matter who they turn out to be. I will always honor and love them – to the moon and back.
1. I hope that you both will stay close and be the best of friends. I know right now it seems impossible, but Kira give your brother a few years to grow up. Be there for each other always, even when I’m no longer around.
Please be sure to read the rest of the article (in red above) if you are a mom/parent.
Ok, so back to the Useletter – check this out -Wow, a glance of our lives. It’s kinda scary but if you’re interested, it really is interesting.
Or you could ignore that one and check out the video that is just over a minute long. Whoa!
As I sit here a few hours later, it hits me that life is short. I say it all the time but when you SEE it in jelly beans or blocks it becomes real. What will I do today? I will use my time wisely. I will make a difference somewhere. I will be kind. I will chose my words wisely. I will pray for world peace. And I will assume I just have one jelly bean left. =)
