Yep, Historic Charles town has been my hometown my entire lifetime. I was born and raised on the outskirts but am still considered a local. After reading on FB about the activity downtown, I decided to stroll down on this hot, humid afternoon. Yep, Historic Charles Town is being beatified even more and I. LOVE. IT.
After finding a ‘Parker’, I found my way to the next block and side street where people of all ages were busy at work.
I can already tell it is going to be totally AWESOME. A few caught my eye –
Love the faith one, so bright and cheery and WHO doesn’t know Coach James Taylor? I’m sure there are several that have stories to tell about his teaching and coaching years =). What a great man!
And then there are the ‘behind the scenes’ activities…..
All sizes, shapes, colors and patterns. I had no idea this was even happening and it is going on until Wednesday. If you are interested in actually placing some tiles on the wall, you can! Here’s the link to find out more….
Of course while I was out and about, I decided to walk a few blocks and check out the town. With working in another state, I rarely experience the local atmosphere so today was perfect….
I didn’t know this was there either – I am pretty sure when I worked at a local law firm this is the Mr. Washington they are referencing…
Folks – that’s what I did this afternoon. We lost power this morning so made a trip to Roy’s for breakfast and now we are under a tornado warning. Whew! What fun things did you do?
