That’s right – now Bible reading is called Bible journaling and how colorful! With the right tools, the perfect Bible and our creativity, our Bible can be personal. Special. Awesome.
At a very young age I was taught the Bible should NEVER be written in (except for my name). No pages EVER torn. Never placed on the floor. And always treated with THE U.T.M.O.S.T. respect. No joke. This book is sacred.
When I first saw someone had colored and ‘journaled’ in their Bible I was intrigued. I wanted to do it too! I saw drawings. Water colors. Highlights. Beautiful words. And much much more. UGH. I want to do that.
Searching on FB I found my friend and sent her a FB message asking what it was. She explained but I really didn’t get it. And then I landed on this blog – Oh. My. Goodness. I knew I had hit the jackpot and immediately fell in love with Bethany @ Southern Culture.
So I read. I downloaded her free sheets. I ordered my bible.
Off to Michael’s. =) No complaint here.
Slowly I turned the first few pages. Just absorbing this beautiful book and very hesitant to actually draw, color or write.
So I didn’t. I put everything in a nice little basket for later.
A week later (when Later never came), I signed up for Bethany’s course – A simple $9.99 for all the tips, suggestions. How cool!
And I sat down with all my stuff. And read. One verse at a time. In a nice quiet spot with my candle burning. I decided to write my name –
I started coloring on one of the first pages –
“Hesitation Hill” has not been conquered yet but I am getting there. One day at a time. One verse at a time. All the while totally lovin’ my Bible.
